  • Pine Bush captures OCIAA swim crown

    Pine Bush’s boys swimming team won the OCIAA championships Saturday with 371 points, easily out-distancing Minisink by 80 points, and the Bushmen were led by Steve Lowe, who won the 200-freestyle.

    His team was getting ready, and the Lady Goldbacks seemed to be having fun during their warm-up at home against Kingston, Thursday, Jan. 31. But Rich Desiderio, Newburgh’s coach, did not forget about the first time his team played the Tigers Dec. 18 and lost 47-38.

    Marlboro’s girls basketball took advantage of too many New Paltz turnovers Friday and made their shots to build a big first half lead before winning 63-22 at home.

  • Goldbacks fall to Troy 68-61

    Newburgh’s boys basketball team traveled to the Capital Region Sunday to face Troy at Siena College, and the Goldbacks held a 34-27 lead at the half. But after many ties or each taking a two-point lead, Troy finally pulled away on a 10-3 run through the end of the fourth to win 68-61.
